Challenge

Technical products. Too much friction.

Cybertouch sells highly technical touchscreen products to customers who often arrive with specific requirements around size, technology, environment, integration, and performance. That makes product discovery fundamentally different from ordinary ecommerce.

The challenge was to organize a complex product catalog so technical buyers could understand their options, compare products, and move toward the right solution without forcing them to decode the company’s internal product structure first.

  • Large technical catalog with multiple product attributes and use cases

  • Product discovery required more than conventional category navigation

  • Technical content and commerce needed to work as one system

  • Information architecture needed to support both expert and less technical buyers

  • Mobile product research needed to remain usable despite dense specifications

Approach

Structure the catalog around how buyers actually search.

Built approached the project as an information-architecture and data problem first. Product relationships, specifications, categories, and buyer paths were mapped before the interface was redesigned, creating a foundation that could support both browsing and more precise product discovery.

The Magento experience was then designed around that structure, pairing stronger filtering and product hierarchy with clearer technical information, responsive layouts, and product pages that helped buyers move from specifications to the right next action.

  • Mapped the product catalog and underlying data relationships before redesigning the interface

  • Reorganized information architecture around buyer needs rather than internal product structure

  • Designed clearer product listing and filtering experiences for technical buyers

  • Improved product detail pages with stronger specification hierarchy and supporting information

  • Built the commerce experience on Magento for greater catalog flexibility

  • Extended the experience responsively so complex product research remained usable on mobile

We struggled with helping our customers find the solutions they needed. We spent far too much time pulling data sheets and other documentation for engineers and procurement teams, instead of letting our website handle these requests. We’re grateful that we have our data and website more organized to provide us more time creating the tools our users want.
